THE CHALLENGE

The customer relied heavily on manual testing for its financial services web applications. As release frequency increased, manual regression testing became increasingly time-consuming and resource-intensive. This limited the team’s ability to expand test coverage, introduced repetitive effort, and made it harder to maintain confidence in the quality and stability of each release.

THE CHALLENGE

Missing parts on a manufacturing floor are a major problem, often acting as a “silent killer” of productivity. Parts may be misplaced into the wrong bin or even forgotten during handling. This causes operational disruptions and hidden expenses such as expedited shipping, emergency labor premiums, and overstocking. In a highly automated environment, some stations may still require operators to manually load and unload parts. However, as these facilities have significantly fewer operators, there may be no one around to attend to the station at crucial moments, leading to unplanned downtime. Therefore, an effective solution is needed to address these issues.

THE SOLUTION

Our solution uses a central server with Web GUI, indoor tracking sensors, and wearable devices to manage the floor. High-value parts are paired with wireless tags at the staging area, and their location is tracked all the way to the final assembly.  The locations of production personnel are also tracked through wireless tags, allowing the system to locate the nearest personnel and send an alert to their wearable device when a machine needs handling or assistance.

THE RESULT

The Indoor Tracking System improved OEE of the production process by reducing unplanned downtime spent searching for parts or waiting for an operator to attend to a machine. By using the Web GUI to monitor the production process in real time, management can optimize production workflows. Overall, the system has increased productivity and reduced the hidden expenses from missing parts.

THE CHALLENGE

Our customer needed a solution to maintain stable and consistent operating temperatures during the warm-up phase of their precision electronic instruments. This phase is crucial for accurate measurements and performance verification.

THE SOLUTION

The Heat Run Timer Instrument brings about a transformative change by monitoring the interface status of the precision electronic instruments. Upon detecting that the instrument has been powered on, the Heat Run Timer Instrument initiates a precisely calibrated warm-up timer. Once the warm-up period is successfully completed, an integrated UPS battery backup system ensures uninterrupted power while the instrument is being moved to the performance verification station. The performance verification process will begin once the instrument has achieved the required warm-up time.

THE RESULT

The Heat Run Timer Instrument eradicates human-recorded errors in warm-up times, improving the accuracy and efficiency of the performance verification process. Its automated monitoring ensures precise warm-up times, ultimately improving the reliability and functionality of our customers’ precision electronic instruments.
